John Bellow, Owner of SpringRain Farm & Orchard, will skip-jump you over years of trial and error growing tomatoes and peppers in our not-so-tropical maritime climate. You'll learn to: choose locally adapted varieties, understand which fertilizers to apply, time your planting, and prune to avoid diseases and amp your yield.
What to expect:
John is a fun and approachable worldwide farming expert who can answer all your tomato and pepper growing questions, and the Nursery will offer you hands-on time with our plant starts. After, we’ll tour special items in the nursery that boost your tomato and pepper-growing game. Our workshop is specially timed to give you a few weeks to prepare before Midori and Shooting Star Farm plants arrive in mid-May.
About the presenter:
John Bellow, our neighbor from SpringRain Farm & Orchard on Chimacum Creek, is also an internationally accomplished PhD agronomist. He's a fun and approachable expert farmer and academic who is always testing methods to amplify local food production.
