There's no reason not to eat greens and salad from your garden year round. Pierce Kennedy of Soft Step Farm will show you how to plan, time, plant, and protect your year round harvest. Because Soft Step Farm is a "one-man-operation," his methods will work in your home garden too. Pierce welcomes your best fall and winter veggie questions.

What to expect:

Get ready for whole new vision of year-round self-sufficieny. You'll learn how to plant during summer and care for plants over fall and winter. Includes: how to choose varieties, time your crops (Spoiler alert: Purple Sprouting Broccoli is sown in early summer), and protect your crops in winter. Pierce will take time to answer your many veggie questions, and then we'll tour the nursery to show you his favorite seeds, tools, natural fertilizers, and soils. Get ahead of the season!

About the presenter:

Pierce Kennedy is Soft Step Farm. His interest in food led him to gardening, and he made the leap into professional farming ten years ago. Pierce is known for meticulous methods, vibrant veggies, and a beautiful booth at Port Townsend Farmers Market.
