Now Hiring Produce Handler!

Passionate about produce? Eager to join an awesome 6 member produce team committed to high quality and outstanding customer service? Here’s your chance. We are looking for a produce handler to work 7:30 am – 2:30 pm Sundays and Mondays, and 2:00 pm – 8:30 pm Thursdays and Fridays.

Responsibilities include:

  • Physical receiving into facility and inspection of orders
  • Processing/Prepping/labeling of incoming products for storage and display
  • A.M. Shift-Setting up /populating of ambient and cold table displays to ready for store opening at 9 am
  • P.M Shift-Closing down and putting produce displays to rest for the night
  • Consistent stocking and attention to all produce displays during open hours
  • Display development
  • Providing service to customers in produce section by answering questions, making suggestions as well as general dialogue
  • Maintains department cleanliness
  • Occasionally backs up Cashiers at register during peak times

Required Skills:

  • Passion for produce
  • Prior produce experience either on farm or in retail
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to attractively and efficiently build and maintain appealing product displays
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and safely
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as department handbook, communication logs, etc
  • Basic math to accurately calculate prices and invoices as needed
  • Can operate computerized cash register system as trained
  • Can prioritize work tasks and work with minimal supervision

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting and twisting. This job requires the ability to perform duties in a wide range of weather temperature conditions. Frequent repetitive hand/wrist movements (trimming/culling) as well as manual dexterity to safely use knives and other equipment.

Compensation: Starts at $11.00 per hour depending on experience and movement into positions of greater responsibility receive greater compensation. All employees receive at cost in store meals, discounted personal shopping, 1 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service and 2 weeks paid vacation after 3 years of service.
