In anticipation of our Interdependence Day Party (a grand opening of sorts for us), we are rolling out a new line of non-food items, starting with these darling cups made for us by Todd Stephens of Millbrook Clayworks in Port Hadlock. Just imagine this 7oz cup filled with some strong fresh-brewed coffee from either Better Living Through Coffee or Sunrise Coffee? Perhaps one of Anca’s red velvet cupcakes on the side? The opposite side of the cup has imprinted “chimacum,wa”. Now doesn’t that solve most all of your gift dilemmas?
Hanging on the wall near the entry, you will see Doyle Yancey’s assortment of wildlife conservation boxes for Mason Bees, Wood Ducks, Flickers, and Barn Swallows. These nesting boxes are made from lumber harvested locally and milled by Bob Richardsen on Eaglemount Rd. The nesting boxes aren’t just handsome and unique, but they are extremely functional, built in consultation with bird expert, Paul Bannick (author of “The Owl and the Woodpecker) and built to all specifications recommended in “Landscaping for Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest“. Doyle owner of Egg and I Gardens – specializing in fuchsias and native plants, is also the one who made us the Corner our handsome beefy picnic tables. Do your wildlife a service.
And we’ve finally got t-shirts, not made in Chimacum, but at least they’re “American Apparel” t-shirts made in California. We’ve got 3 designs, one for the guys, one for the gals, and one for the kids. The plan is to change the designs each year, so you’ve got only one year to think about these!
