You won’t want to miss this!

The planning is in the works, and details at this point are sketchy, but we want to pre-announce our upcoming “INTER-DEPENDENCE DAY” party at the Corner, scheduled for Saturday, July 2 (after the Farmers Market in Port Townsend).   It was just 6 months ago that Chimacum Corner Farmstand humbly opened its doors during last winter’s biggest snowstorm, and an unbelievably warm and supportive community flowed in.  We remain awed by Chimacum’s agricultural heritage, its beauty, and its bounty, but mostly we are in awe of all of the hard-working, principled, creative inhabitants who choose to engage and make it their home.

A celebration of thanks is in order!  We declare ourselves “inter-dependent” and officially “grandly open” to serve the farming community!

(Now all we need is a DECLARATION of INTERDEPENDENCE – anyone willing to write it???)

  1. INTERDEPENDENCE DECLARATION:

“We, the people, the local farmers, and the workers of the Chimacum Corner Farmstand, hereby declare that all our produce shall be created organically by local hands. That we shall endeavor in promoting a healthy and flavorful lifestyle, thus helping our community flourish. And if we fail in such actions, that the people will rise and, God forbid, bring Wal-Mart to our corner.”

(Well, you can strike that last sentence – but I thought I’d bring a smile to your faces…!)
